Maintenance Engineering Manager

Job Description

This is a customer-facing role that combines critical thinking and integrated solution ownership with great leadership and management skills. This person will be part of our Lifetime Cycle Services team, responsible for on-site services and support post implementation.

The Maintenance Engineering Manager is responsible for the overall management of the material handling systems installed at the site. This includes managing a team of DLN resident technicians, acting as a key escalation point, and being a resource to the customer on DLN system related topics.

The ideal candidate has a customer first mentality, embraces customer interaction, at all levels, and understands that the primary responsibility of this role is a high level of customer satisfaction.

This role requires a strong background in electrical and controls systems, as well as a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems.

Specific Duties

  • Develop rapport with customer operational staff at all levels. Work closely with customer operational staff to identify opportunities for system improvement in a pro-active manner.
  • Serve as liaison between the supported facility and the broader DLN Life Cycle Services team. Build a strong relationship with the customer and keep them updated on site activities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of DLN resident technicians.
  • Ensure team members are well-trained and equipped to handle maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of DLN provided sub-systems during the pre-Go Live phase.
  • Develop and implement maintenance protocols, inspections, equipment diagnostics, and schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Coordinate with OEMs and service providers for repairs and critical maintenance services.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues related to electrical/controls and mechanical systems.
  • Organize and conduct training sessions for distribution center personnel on key equipment and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards in all maintenance activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Electrical/Controls Systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in maintenance management within a highly automated environment.
  • Strong background in electrical/controls systems and a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a cross-functional team.
  • Proven track record of successfully directing on-site project teams and subcontractors
